Always being our best, for ourselves and for each other
Assessment plays a fundamental role in ensuring each individual learner is supported and challenged accordingly. It should contribute to developing a holistic picture of the learner – their strengths, the ways in which they learn, and their areas for development – in order to inform next steps in learning and teaching.
Assessment at Evenlode is based on the following.
Teachers constantly assess pupils progress to identify and address any misconceptions and provide extension and challenge, moving learning on securely and ensuring all pupils are making strong progress. Through half termly Pupil Progress Meetings leaders work with teachers to analyse pupil progress data and work, ensuring each child is making the best progress they can, and developing action plans where needed. Pupils monitor and reflect on their own learning and progress, as well as reflecting on their own ability to assess their own work.
