Belong, Believe, Achieve
Evenlode Primary School has a strategic plan with key priorities, which are identified by school evaluation processes. Progress against these priorities is evaluated termly.
School Development Plan – Parent Summary 2025–26
Our monitoring and evaluation processes demonstrate good progress against all our priorities in our 2025/2026 School Development Plan.
We have further refined our teaching and learning practice across the school. Teachers are increasingly adapting lessons to meet the needs of individual children, providing appropriate challenge and giving pupils more opportunities to think, explain their ideas and work independently. Learning walks and reviews show that children are increasingly engaged, supportive of one another and able to tackle more challenging learning.
Our curriculum has continued to develop, with greater focus on ensuring that children build knowledge and skills progressively.
In mathematics, children are being given more opportunities to reason, solve problems and explain their thinking. There is clear evidence of children tackling more challenging work and learning from their mistakes.
We have also made positive progress in developing Welsh across the school. Staff have received additional training and are using more Welsh in everyday interactions. Children are hearing and using Welsh more frequently, including outside formal Welsh lessons, and are becoming increasingly confident in using familiar Welsh phrases and sentences.
Provision continues to develop strongly. Adults have a clearer understanding of their roles and assessments are being used effectively to identify children's next steps. Our Nursery provision was spotlighted in a recent Teaching and Learning Review as highly effective practice for our Nursery children.
To build on the previous year’s work, our priorities for the School Development Plan for 2026/2027 are:
